    Hello everyone.

Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence is my all-time favourite movie, alongside Millennium Actress. Some of my favourite series are West World and In The Flesh.

However, I've traditionally had a hard time getting into sci-fi books. I feel like I should like them, because my tastes align well with the genre. I like convoluted timelines, time skips, I don't mind if it's "complicated". I like philosophical works, ethical dilemmas, satire, intelligent robots… I'm not big on space / aliens but I'll try not to be close-minded. Overall, I lean towards literary and non-fiction rather than genre fiction, so I likewise struggle with other genres (ex.fantasy).

    Stuff I've read:

    • I, Robot in high school. I liked the robot interview

    • Eschbach's The Carpet Makers. 10/10, fantastic book

    • Ted Chiang's Stories of Your Life and Others. I enjoyed the stories Tower of Babylon and Story of Your Life.

    • The Egg by Weir. A bit basic, but fine I guess.

    • Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, had some interesting ideas but they weren't developed so it ended up being a bit disappointing.

Any recs for good sci-fi according to my tastes would be appreciated!
