My mom's really into history, she's most interested in WWII or Native Americans. I don't know anything about books. I need to buy her a book either about Germans, Jews, Russians or Polish people during WWII or Native Americans. I'd say these two would be the best bets other than books about Polish Nobility, because I believe she read them all. I need your top picks for this. Something widely available, with a story following some character. Generally liked and well-received book without some unbelievable miracles, so that the story feels real. Preferably a lot of tragedies in the story, that'll keep her invested. Could you reccomend me some of your picks?

*The Girl Who Fell From The Sky* by Simon Mawer is about a woman going into occupied Europe as a spy as part of the Special Operations Executive.
I liked it and my Mum did too!
