I liked Foster, I Who Have Never Known Men, Tiny Beautiful Things, and Nothing to See Here. Sounds like you like some books with a good dose of humanity. Nothing to See Here was really surprising for me; it was so absurd but then great! How about Margo’s Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe. Main character isn’t super likeable but I surprisingly got more and more into and wanted to talk about it with people.
I liked The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and suggest The Midnight Library and/or Ten Thousand Doors of January (both are popular so giving two in case you’ve read one already!)
The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
Foster crushed me but I loved it. I’d suggest you The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. Also Irish, also heartbreaking, also phenomenal.
