Hi everyone! I'm moving out of state this week and we'll be enduring a very long drive to get to our new home. I'm hoping you can help recommend a book or two that I can download and listen to on the drive. Looking for enthralling fiction stories that aren't too violent – no true crime.

    Some books I've loved recently:

    • Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow
    • Tom Lake
    • Recursion
    • Project Hail Mary
    • The Vanishing Half
    • Sea of Tranquility
    • 11/22/63

For a long drive with family and relocation? Legends and Lattes 10000%

All the other recs here are also great.

    2. Won’t the toddler be listening also? Audiobooks were a salvation for our car trips when my daughter was little. I know it’s cheesy, but Arnold Lobel (Frog and Toad, Mouse Tales, etc) are wonderful stories that still enrich my soul. When she was a bit older, the Magic Treehouse series was fantastic, as was the Nancy Drew series, both the original and new.

If the toddler won’t be overhearing you, I’ve enjoyed Becky Chambers’ books recently, both the Monk and Robot series (it’s just 2 novellas) and her Wayfarers series are great stories, non-violent sci-fi (“cozy scifi”)
