I want to start a book right now. I don’t even care what it is at this point. I use the Libby app and have 11 books on hold right now. Every book I come across on this sub has a wait. I don’t even know how you would judge if something is available at my library, but suggest anything and I’ll take a look.

It’s usually newer and most popular modern books that have holds on them so try older books/classics, etc.
Also you can refine searches by ‘available now’ on Libby?
*The Thief of Always* by Clive Barker
Look at what’s available in the Skip The Line section and if you aren’t sure if it’s good, post a list here for people to respond to! That section usually has a mix of genres and both older and new releases.
Dave Robichaux series James Lee Burke. New Orleans cop/pi. Neon Rain is the first.
maybe The Star Rover by Jack London. or Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut. or If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin. or All’s Well by Mona Awad. my advice is: try looking for less popular books by well loved authors, they’re probably also fantastic, likely to be in stock at the library, and the demand is lower because less people are talking about them/suggesting them
