I am looking to get into the war genre of books and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations. I am looking for a book that follows a main character and is about a specific event and not general war. I really like movies such as "The Wall" and if there is a book that could be of similar style it would be great. I want it to be in modern times or even in the near future.
