I'm tired of the magic-medieval combo and am looking for something with that classic fantasy-medieval flair without it revolving around magic, destiny, or overthrowing the king so to speak. Male lead as mentioned. Romance is okay but no smut. Anything with monsters, assassins, ninja, thieves, etc is a huge bonus.
