Basically the title, I'm looking for something like dune or maybe warhammer 40K? I want the book to take me to another world, and I want to know every damn thing about the world, who it's leaders are, what it's political parties/figures are, the world's geography, the fucking macroeconomic trends, everything! So yes, I'm basically looking for something with amazing worldbuilding and lore

You might like the Destiny’s Crucible series, starting with {{Cast under an Alien Sun}}. It starts out sloooowly, but as the MC experiences more of the world he is thrust in, it opens up.
