A couple days ago I saw someone debate about why a particular player’s award was underrated because everyone believes they had a better team surrounding him than the other candidates. I was impressed by a response it had received, the responder didn’t just react to information but it almost simulated the scenario because of which people called the award underrated/undeserving. I would like to learn this process.

I am a victim of modern social media and feel inadequate of processing information to contribute to it, though i believe i can make quirky remarks.
I would like to not just become articulate but to actually become one with the discussion not just react to what is being said.
I often read arguments online and i am impressed by how people relate different ideas and condense them to articulate so clearly, but what i get more impressed by is the journey their thoughts would have gone through to materialize into the argument/comment they made, and not just skim the information that was provided to them.

Please suggest some books, which are more about this process rather than just articulation.
