It is that time of the year again, when I crave to live through books what I cannot in real life, thanks to the context I was born into. So, I humbly ask: does anyone have suggestions for well-written, preferably 'literary' books with gay/lesbian main characters?
I am especially weak for lyrical prose and happy/hopeful endings. Also, Cantoras by Carolina De Robertis is my favourite book in the world. I also enjoyed The Song of Achilles (though I loved Circe better), and The Well of Loneliness (perhaps 'enjoyed' is not the right word; bawling one's eyes out is not particularly enjoyable…)
Thank you so much!
