Can someone suggest me where to start with H.G. Wells novels? I'm currently reading The Stand and Stephen King has made 2-3 H.G. Wells references which piqued my interest.
Bonus points if you give me a top 3 ranking in order 🙂
The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Time Machine, and the Invisible Man will give you what you need to place him in pop culture next.

I would personally go:
1. Time machine (It’s his most famous and a great introduction to his work. I started here and I was hooked).
2. The Invisible Man
3. The Island of Dr.Moreau
Unpopular opinion, but I wasn’t too into War of the Worlds when I read it, but that might be a me issue.
But I do love how so many of his stories start with a group of academic guys around a fireplace talking about an unbelievable event that had happend to them. Or something similar…and then it goes into the story.

The Time Machine is my favorite.
I also would highly recommend The Invisible Man.

I did The Time Machine first, then The Invisible Man, then War of the Worlds. That’s my order of enjoyment too! I loved the first one but didn’t care much for the latter.
