I used to read so much when I was little. Both with my grandma AND on my own and it seems technology has completely overrun my life and my time for books has dwindled significantly

I’m looking for an adults book, anything english village/cottage related. Something eng country side related. Nature themed. Something that’s a very relaxing autumn cold weather read. Cozy, nice to read in a warm coffee shop or infront of a warm fireplace.

If you need a visual idea of the theme i’m trying to find within a book, look up the “Cotswolds”! Or the aesthetic “Dark Academia”.

It can be a romance story book or a poetry book, something light hearted. Or perhaps a thriller, i wouldn’t rule that out.
    Doesn’t matter if it’s a hard back/paper back,
Would be helpful if it was available at waterstones considering i’ll be near one on the weekend!

    Many thanks!!

    1. When I’m going through a reading slump I always find it easier to read short books, or at the very least avoid dense books in either language or topics explored… but regardless here are my suggestions
      1. Exhalation by Ted Chiang (short stories)
      2. The posthumous memoirs of Bras Cubas by Machado de Assis (this is a funny, witty classic, very easy read)
      3. Babel by R F Kuang (quite long, but a recent addition to the greatest dark academia books)
