This is within the context of abusive relationships and general power imbalances in general (such as landlord and tenant).
I've noticed a common theme of my trauma is with unequal power dynamics and a lot of my financial and general stress is with that sort of power imbalance as well.
I'm wondering if there's any psychology books that simply describe the different power dynamics out there and how to keep yourself safe in an imbalanced one
Feel free to DM more for more details as I don't feel totally comfortable writing down the details of why I'm looking to educate myself in this manner.
I've already read Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft but I want to read something that breaks down the "science" of power dynamics further. I looked up the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene but that book seems to be more of an instructional type book with the connotation of the benefits of said behaviors vs just neutral description. That's what I got from merely reading the GoodReads reviews though.
Perhaps I'm looking more for a book about self-advocacy and getting my needs met in a negotiation type manner with someone else.
