idk how to put into words but something similar to the perks of being a wallflower and the movie amélie where the main character is mostly just watching observing and not participating? books about not belonging anywhere not being significant to anyone

Not sure if it completely fits what you’re looking for but would recommend Eleanor oliphant is completely fine and everyone I know is dying
Neal Stephenson sequel to Reamde. Our hero Dodge dies in almost the beginning and the story goes on from there. The name of the book is Fall or Dodge In Hell.
Maybe Looking for Alaska by John Green. I think it has similarities with The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Same for Solitaire by Alice Oseman.
Stargirl and the sequel by Jerry Spinelli felt a little bit like that. (More the sequel since it’s in her pov)
There’s also another YA novel called Confess-O-Rama by Ron Koertge that feels like that at least in the beginning. It’s about a kid who moves to a new place again.
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
{{Leonard and Hungry Paul}}
{{Everyone in This Room Will Someday be Dead}}
The Great Gatsby. The narrator is mostly just watching everyone else do stuff and reporting on it.
