I’ve read 39 of my 49 book target for the year and now I’m stuck on what to read next as (probably) my last book of the year. I’m not set on any particular genre but I’d like it to be good quality yet manageable to finish by the end of the month. I just finished Piranesi by Suzanna Clarke and loved it. I thought the writing was gorgeous and the character of Piranesi was great. I will be reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell in the new year but I think 900 pages is a bit ambitious to complete by the end of the month (and I don’t want to rush for the sake of it).
Other books I’ve read and highly rated this year are:
-a tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
-Educated by Tara Westover
-Soldier Sailor by Claire Kilroy
-The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese
-Tom Lake by Ann Pratchett
Thank you!
