So when I was a kid I was a big fan of shows and movies with a raygun gothic/art deco/20-50s aesthetic. From the works of Williams Joyce (George Shrinks, Rolie Polie Olie, Robots, Meet the Robinsons) to the adventures of my childhood superheroes (Jimmy Neutron, Kim Possible, Superman, Batman, and Jenny the Teenage Robot) I found the futuristic yet retro (20-50s) art deco designs of these works to be fascinating.
Now I know that the real 20s, 30, 40s, and 50s weren't all peaches and cream, especially for minorities and LBGTQs, but there's something about the aesthetics borrowed from those eras that make you believe in a brighter and better tomorrow.
In any case, does anyone know of any good cozy science fiction stories that have a raygun gothic/art deco/20-50s aesthetic?
