Every winter I begin to want something dystopian. I prefer books with minimal to no sex.

I have already read many of the classics, I couldn't get into WE but really enjoyed Fahrenheit 451. I enjoyed The Road, but that was about as dark as I can handle. Religious undertones are fine I enjoyed the Rapture series and LORD of the world.

    Any great new recommendations?

These two are always on my “to recommend” list, and I reread them regularly; they’re fantastic stories:

Moon of the Crusted Snow, and its sequel, Moon of the Turning Leaves, by Waubgeshig Rice

The Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin (The Passage, The Twelve, The City of Mirrors)

Also check out On the Beach by Nevil Shute. It’s an oldie, and quietly devastating.

I’m currently reading *A Pleasure to Burn: Fahrenheit 451 Stories* by Ray Bradbury and I’m really liking it so far. It’s all of his short stories that led to the writing of Fahrenheit 451. It can be repetitive but I like seeing his writing process.

    3. The translation of We that I read was just horrible. I’ve heard mileage varies depending on translation.

The Dog Stars by Peter Heller. More apocalypse than dystopia

The Children of Men by PD James

In Ascension by Martin MacInnes. Soft dystopia (climate change ravaged 2030s), leans sci-fi

Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
