I recently read Not Even Bones by Rebecca Schaeffer where I really liked the main leads dynamic, with the main girl being able to turn off her pain receptors, and the main guy being a being who feasts on other's pain to survive and has no qualms about torturing people to feed on it. I didn't even realize there would be something with them because he was not described as a typical love interest so THAT'S WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR. He can be cute, but being described as ''smouldering hot" or ''sculpted Greek God" is not compelling to me in the least, especially when first meeting them. It would pretty interesting if the girl didn't even find him attractive at first or he was just not her type.
