Just finished 11/22/63, it was great but if I am being honest it gave me nightmares. I need less violence & probably a break from King. Since becoming a mother I am a wimp with horror or violence. Looking for a
similar feel but less ‘scary’.
ETA doesn’t have to be time travel but I did enjoy that aspect of the book.

*The Forever War* by Joe Haldeman if you don’t mind sci-fi.
Connie Willis’ Oxford Time Travel Series — Fire Watch, Doomsday Book, To Say Nothing of the Dog, and Blackout/All Clear.
The most amusing is TSNOTD, and the most hopeful is Blackout/All Clear. Doomsday Book is brilliant, but darker. Not violent, just not humorous. They’re all some of my favourite books!
Time and Again by Jack Finney.
The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis. Really good!
The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland. I was the same way as a new mom and had no problem with this one.
The Simulacra by Philip K. Dick
The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley.
You might like Sea of Tranquility, by Emily St. John Mandel
The Ministry of Time, Kaliane Bradly. Moderate amount of violence involving guns, no gore and in short parts of the story. Very funny while having action and suspense. Steeped in a solid knowledge of history and an amusing development of individuals from the past.
To Say Nothing Of The Dog by Connie Willis. She has others but this one is a comedy, no-one is hurt, killed or even really threatened.
Edit: I lie, one character is whacked with a tea tray to stop him mentioning the cats imminent motherhood status.
LOL….
