I read (listened to) all of Erik Larson's books over the summer and I want to read (listen to) something similar.
I like they way he does a deep dive into a very specific part of a well known historical event. I don't read a lot of nonfiction, so having a good narrative backbone is a must.
Most importantly, audiobooks are my jam, so I'm hoping for recommendations that have an audio version.

David McCullough is consistently good
I’d recommend ***Mike Dash*** and ***Giles Milton*** – their books often focus on lesser-known events in history and are really engaging.
