Been reading a lot of classics lately and I just want to have a light read rn where I can turn off my brain and not think too much of the meaning of this & that.

Any suggestions? I don’t like poorly-written booktok romance.

    1. John Scalzi’s **Starter Villain** is the most entertaining book I’ve read recently. It’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.

    2. Genre fiction – browse the fantasy and sci fi sections for something that grabs you. It’s a slippery slope – if you like what you find there will be thousands of titles.

    3. Backgrounding-Cat on

In Death / Eve Dallas books by J.D. Robb is for adults and probably better if you turn off your brain first.

    4. Striking-Arm-1403 on

Alias Emma by Ava Glass is a fun action/spy novel that is fast-paced. Sort of like reading a movie. It’s an easy read.

    5. i think essy mystery thrillers are the best way to forget about reality, listen for the lie is a great one ive recently read
