I am going on my honeymoon soon and will have a lot of beach time to read. Lately I haven't read much, but I used to love reading on vacations. I listen to a lot of podcasts and some audio books but sitting down to read generally doesn't do it for me unless the book is really good. In podcasts I like current events/ politics, history, true crime. In the past I've really enjoyed Fantasy, Historical fiction and non fiction, and Sci-Fi.
The last book that I read which really held my attention was Ender's game. That was the first time in a very long time that I couldn't set the book down.
Other books I've read in the last few years which I enjoyed: The First Conspiracy by Brad Meltzer. City of Thieves by David Benioff. Hail Mary by Andy Weir (I listened to this one but know I would have enjoyed reading it too). A Man of Honor by Joseph Bonano. I also listened to the entire 3 Body Problem series this year and really enjoyed it.
I made it through Sapiens but it took a while and was a bit of a chore. Same with Chaos by Tom O'Niel, which was so complicated I had a hard time following it.
I'm looking for a book that has an engaging story, isn't too dense to scare me off, and will feel like a productive read that I might learn something from.
