Looking for books (fiction or narrative non-fiction) about resilience and overcoming adversity. I'm specifically avoiding self-help books – instead, I want to learn through compelling stories, whether they're fictional or based on real events. I tend to feel stuck when facing challenges, and I'd love to see how people (real or fictional) find their way forward when everything seems dark. Memoirs, historical accounts, or novels where the protagonist learns to be resilient through difficult circumstances would all be welcome. Particularly interested in stories that show the actual journey of building resilience, not just the before and after.
