Currently reading the extended version of The Stand by Stephen King and I like it but it's a little too scary for me lol, I'm going to need a light hearted chaser after this. I usually like lighthearted fantasy, also a big fan of Octavia Butler novels, Maurice Carlos Ruffin novels, Joan Didion, I love a good lesbian book that is actually well written, etc. Any recommendations are welcome, though I am currently in the market for something fiction/fantasy that will not give me nightmares lol.
Also completely unrelated, but I just got hired by a local former crime boss (retired and very old now) to write his autobiography. He's giving me a lot of freedom about HOW the book is written, and I have plenty of ideas but I would love to call on my fellow bookworms for some ideas on what styles of writing make for a catchy biography. We're still pretty early in the project and I don't have a ton to work with yet (and of course I can't share too much!)
