I'm trying to read 100 books by the end of this year and I'm only at 98. My favorite genres are mystery, horror, historical, and supernatural but I'm open to anything 🙂
* Darwin Comes to Town by Menno Schilthuizen. I don’t know why, but I read through this nonfiction book in a couple of days.

Eleven Hours by Paullina Simons is a shorter book. It’s a crime novel.

We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson is on the shorter side. It went by pretty fast

Martha Wells’ *Murderbot Diaries* series of sci-fi novellas. Action-packed, they follow an ex-military dry-humored cyborg that hires out as security to humans at the edge of the galaxy. The series builds on itself so they have to be read in order.
The first one is **All Systems Red**.

Sweet bean paste by durian Sukegawa
It’s really short but so incredible. I could have read it in a day.
Especially recommend it, if you have ever had any kind of depression, or felt like you don’t live up to expectations
Definitely one of those books that will stick with me for a long time

I just finished “Faces in the Crowd” by Valeria Luiselli. The protagonist is haunted by the ghost of Mexican poet Gilberto Owen. Magical realism story takes you through Manhattan and Philadelphia.

Charlotte’s Web, you won’t regret it. Congrats on being so close!
Here are some I have liked:
* The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw. A dark fantasy novella.
* [And Then There Were N-1](https://escapepod.org/2018/11/01/escape-pod-652-and-then-there-were-n-one-part-1/) by Sarah Pinsker. A sci fi mystery novella available free at the link.
