I love love love books centered around wilderness survival stories but the vast majority tend to be pretty depressing in general. I'm fine with dark parts/gritty stories but does anyone have any recommendations for stories that don't have an overall depressing vibe? For reference I like books like The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah even though it has darker themes because it's not all doom and gloom. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hold Tight, Don’t Let Go, by Laura Wagner
Both non-fiction, but i loved The River of Doubt (not depressing, but there is some sad-ish parts) and Endurance.
Not sure if this is really what you’re looking for but The Sun is a Compass is a travel memoir about a couple that traveled from Washington state to the west coast of Alaska using no motorized vehicles (I.e., they hiked, canoed, etc. for the full 4,000 miles). It definitely has its moments of wilderness survival!
A walk in the woods by bill bryson
Hatchet is kinda YA but doesn’t feel depressing imo
