I am in a slump. I like the idea of a story from deaths perspective or with them as a character.
Other books Ove read lately are The Emperors Edge series, yesterday’s gone series, the last rune series……. So yeah…… I’m open, as are my dms if anyone wants to chat.
Or Trying to focus on something either galaxy exploration, but in its infancy, not like galactic war, Star Trek or something……

Did you ever read The Book Thief? Death is the narrator.
Not sure if these fit but death is a character in:
The book thief
And
Katurah and lord death
And
The bear and the nightingale
The Book Thief!! I put it off for ages because I felt like everyone must be overrating it, but it’s incredible
Death is a (very funny) character in Terry Pratchett’s excellent Discworld series, and also, sort of, in Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn. That’s a bit of a stretch, one character ultimately becomes known as the personification of death, so it’s a little different.
If you’ve never read Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Sandman’, I 10/10 recommend it. It IS a graphic novel, but it is so so so good. And one of the main characters is death 🩶
A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore is a dark comedy where the main character is death. Great, weird, and funny book that makes you consider death from a different angle.
Death With Interruptions by Jose Saramago
Discworld:
– Mort, but his character is somewhat still developing
– Reaper Man
– Hogfather, which is Christmassy so good for this time of year
Not sure if I’d say he gets a big story arc, but we get some lore on the Jewish Angel of death in *The World That We Knew* by Alice Hoffman. I really can’t recommend the novel enough.
Please don’t forget “On a Pale Horse” by Piers Anthony. Good story, original.
