Genius, eccentric detective mystery novels besides the classics?

I just watch the two Knives Out movies with Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc. I'm aware that the clever, omnipotent detective with all the answers comes from characters like Poirot and Holmes. I'm wondering if there are any more accessible, maybe more modern writers or series of this kind of mystery fiction that will scratch the same itch. I've tried to read Holmes before and found it too slow and hard top get into.

Any other mystery series/writer recommendations are welcome, I just happened to realize after Glass Onion that having the polite yet infinitely perceptive detective character added a lot for me. Bonus points if there's a little humor.
