Looking for novels set in any time period or setting that largely focus on Adventure / Journey.
Books I have enjoyed recently along this line are books like 'City Of Thieves' and 'The Hobbit'.
Would appreciate any recommendations or insight!

The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez! It’s told as the folktale of two warriors transporting the body of a god across a country to retrieve an artifact, and I can tell you absolutely nothing else about it except that it’s maybe my favorite book ever. PS – it plays with POV a lot, so give the second-person at the beginning a chance! “You” are a character in the book – it’s not a self-insert Y/N story.
The Codex by Douglas Preston
very Indiana jonesy
couple different groups of folks going to search for a giant bunch of treasure down in the Amazon rainforest basically… Ive read it multiple times and it’s fantastic. 😁
ooh and the last Crichton book published after he died. it’s about pirates. ummm…. Pirate Latitudes
Love- Timeline by Crichton
Follow the Hobbit with The Lord of the Rings (trilogy).
The Murderer’s Ape by Jakob Wegelius
Check out Deep River by Karl Marlantes
The Deceivers, by John Masters (about the suppression of Thuggee in India).
The Riddle of the Sands, by Erskine Childers (pre-WWI intrigue, but also about sailing)
Without Armor (some editions are Knight Without Armor) , by James Hilton ( taking off from the “Anastasia” story).
