i got a jane austen book set for christmas and i wasn’t sure which one to start with, i didnt want to read one that could potentially put me off reading the rest lol.
Northanger Abbey. It’s shorter than the rest, and gives you a solid introduction to her unique style.
Although, none of them are bad or should put you off.
Keep in mind that all of her work has satirical elements. She’s poking fun at someone or something that she was regularly dealing with at the time. With Northanger it’s the Female Gothic genre (which was super popular at the time among women) and the author Anne Radcliffe.
