I could handedly pass a high school civics test on how bills are passed, but I'm interested in the actual horse trading behind closed doors. Could be a book about a singular bill or a representative who was particularly adept at getting bills passed throughout their career. I'd prefer a book without an agenda to push. I'm just curious about how the sausage is made. Something like Charlie Wilson's War. I imagine a book like Robert Caro's Master of the Senate would fit the bill but I'd be interested in some shorter options. Also, I'm open to fiction if it's accurate to real life. Thanks in advance!
