Hi folks!
I read Bellefleur by Joyce Carol Oates a few months ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. Does anyone know of any other books that are similar to it? I know JCO has written a few other books in the "series", but aside from A Bloodsmoor Romance, none of them seem to really tickle my fancy.
I really liked these aspects of Bellefleur:
-Gothic
-The story follows multiple generations
-Beautiful 1800s-style writing
-Paranormal/supernatural aspects
-Melodrama between family members (it sort of reminded me of V. C. Andrews' stories)
I picked up One Hundred Years of Solitude recently but haven't started it yet. I have a feeling this will be recommend, so please know that it's on my list!
