I’ve read almost every James Patterson novel (especially Alex Cross) and am looking for novels along that kind of route. Even better if they have bouts of historical fiction (Victorian Era, etc.)
The best detective series ever is the Spenser books by Robert Parker. Great characters, literate and witty, lots of gangsters and interesting situations to resolve

There is a Detective Steven Lavender series, with I think 7 books, and some novellas, that is really good. I’m not sure if it’s Victorian era or just like, very old timey england, but it’s historical.

The Isaac Bell series by Clive Cussler and co-writers is about a private detective in the early 1900s.

Have you read any Agatha Christie?
Try: Lee Child, John Grisham, Jeffrey Deaver.
The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hugo is a fun one
