So, I watched Independence Day the other day, and I enjoyed it now more than ever. So, I want to read a book about humanity prevailing against an enemy. More often than not, fiction seems to have become more cynical, and while I enjoy it like that, I also love the uplifting feeling of seeing everyone coming together for a common goal. It can be fantasy, science fiction, alien invasion etc. Thanks!
I also am fine with books that deal with dark subject matters, and I actually would prefer books that are not inherently childish.
