Hey, I just finished watching ping pong the animation and was wondering if there's any book recommendations that people have that is similar to the show. I really enjoyed the dynamics of the main characters and the supporting cast where at first they're just rivals but as the show explores growth and motivations you start to sympathise for each one, much like how the characters learn to respect each other by the end.
The main characters are really good where they try to get better in the sport as a way of motivating each other -seeing the other person succeed-
Some main themes of the show are: selflessness, coming of age and dichotomy of natural talent and effort.
I wouldn't mind hearing about any other sports fiction that has a coming of age type theme
