Looking to start a book club with my friends. I read & listen to plenty of books on my own time but mostly for entertainment with most being forgotten by the time I start the next one.
I'm hoping to come up with a list that are both approachable and worthy of their time aka (thought provoking) also probably just one off books.
So far I have:
Fight club
American Psycho
Brave New World
One Second After
Catch 22
Hyperion
Artemis (skipping the martian because they have seen it)
Stoner
Slaughterhouse 5
1984
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Any other suggestions? I really want them to stick with this so if any of these aren't suggested let me know.

Dungeon Crawler Carl
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Sphere by Michael Crichton
The Raft by Robert Trumbull
Id suggest anything written by John Steinbeck, East of Eden is my personal favourite
I personally found Brave New World pretty hard to read, but it’s definitely an impressive book. Not to discourage you, just a heads up! I have read both Artemis and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and thought they were both pretty good, but by far people seem to like Project Hail Mary *way* better.
Her are some more thought provoking books I recommend:
* Red Rising by Pierce Brown. Exciting, action-y sci fi fantasy that a lot of people who don’t read much tend to like.
* Sun of Suns by Karl Schroeder. Also exciting action-y sci fi, but in a far weirder, far-future setting.
* Accelerando by Charles Stross.
* The Player of Games by Iain M. Banks
* The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin
