Suggest me a book that will get me hooked on reading.

I would love to become a bookworm, but I just do not know where to start and I’ve got no reading friends that could recommend anything…

So I trust you redditors, any suggestion would help, I’ll read the one with the most upvotes.

I love mysteries or plot twists, also I am a huge horror fan. I would rather a standaole book rather than a series. I don’t mind the genre, as a reference, my favorite story ever is probably Attack on titan (very geeky IK).
