I'm still obsessed with Of Moons and Monsters by Willow Hadley months after reading it and it's sequel, and I've been in a slump ever since. I adore the language barrier in that it forces the characters to learn about each other outside of dialogue and makes for really cute scenes with every successful communication.
My favorite things about this book are the isekai-like beginnings where the FMC is left alone in a new world and saved by her love interests, and the fantasy elements of them being guardians of the kingdom and dragon shifters.
I'm very specifically looking for a verbal language barrier between two characters where one is a fantasy or sci-fi race and the MC getting stranded somewhere with their love interest. I'm very into poly/why-choose romances and problematic elements are fine with me like slavery, past sexual trauma, etc. If they're tagged that's amazing, but I can always drop a book if I'm not vibing with it. Also, I prefer higher spice levels with descriptive acts in multiple scenes throughout the book if possible.
Thanks for reading all of this, and I hope to get back into reading soon!
