I love a good book that makes you feel like you've lived a really unique life, if that makes sense. Below are some books that I have absolutely loved, and would read anything similar.
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry – Just finished this one today and it was as good as everyone says it is. I feel like I've lived a lifetime in the old west.
Going Solo by Roald Dahl – Everything in this book absolutely fascinated me, especially the view into early 20th century colonial Africa.
Winds of War and War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk – I love anything WW2, and these books did such a good job making you feel like you lived through that time period.
Titanic Survivor by Violet Jessop – I randomly picked this one up for $0.50 at a book sale and I absolutely loved it. It was less about the Titanic specifically and more about the author's career as a stewardess on Victorian-era steam ships, and I found it all so interesting.
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell – I loved this one! The individual stories in this book are exactly what I love – an interesting story set in a very distinct time period and location.
