Okay. So I am sort of a 'hard sell' at romance sometimes. I am not fond of YA romances, and only tolerate ones in stories that I enjoy-such as Hunger Games. Don't enjoy that for the romance, and its not distracting from the story. In fact, I actually loved more the idea of Effy and Haymich having something that was hinted in the movies more than anything Katniss had! LOL

BUT. I will say. I searched pretty hard last year for a good 'slow burn' romance. I feel I struggled to find a 5 star complete win.

The last one, and I know I will get a lot of flack for this, that I 2 * on Goodreads, was the currently popular 4th wing. I DESPISED that romance, and primarily just enjoyed the dragons in that one.

So I am hoping for some suggestions? Of slow burn romances? I have no preference on genre or gender. Some romances I enjoyed- for one reason or another- are like Boyfriend Material, that made me laugh and despite it being ridiculous I couldn't help but love the protagonists narrative. The movie Miss. Potter, yes. 100% yes. Don't loose the story- add to it with the romance! Um. Ashes on the Moore was a historical romance that I enjoyed that took time for the two to gravitate to one another, and the story was primarily romance. I even really enjoyed 'the Flatshare' despite the ridiculous plot.

I just have a great dislike for characters falling in love at first sight, or being romantically inclined to someone without knowing who the other is, or have any real interaction with them prior to attraction. I am getting tired of people who are destined for one another, who put themselves in the most toxic situations for a relationship, who chase after those who say they aren't interested, who see this hot sexy person who is sooooo not their type but they have to drool over them anyway ectctct blaarg.

    Any suggestions would be fantastic.

I am not a big romance fan, but I do like fantasy stories and I really enjoyed Uprooted by Naomi Novik.
The romance is not the main plot, but still a big part of the book and I think that it is written very well and the romance feels very organic to me.
