Hi! I was an English major in college, and after that I kind of fell out of love with reading fiction. In the years since, I've been reading mostly philosophy, politics, history and religious works. I've found Brothers Karamazov to be a nice intersection between a lot of those themes so far, and I feel like it's given me an avenue to get back into fiction again. I also just love Russian literature/history/culture/language.
Some of my favorite works of fiction are Another Country by James Baldwin (my favorite author of all time), the God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy and Light in August by William Faulkner. I really enjoy books that put the complex inner lives of the characters at the forefront. I love drama and big existential themes; I'm a big fan of the classics.
I was thinking about giving Moby Dick a shot after this. But if anyone has any better suggestions, please chime in! Thanks folks!
