So I’m a guy who’s been on a single date in my 29 years of existing. And I generally don’t know how to keep conversations going. No, I’m not completely incompetent and can talk to my coworkers and joke and stuff like that. But I will eventually run out of things to talk about and things will become awkward. This is something I would like to change this year. I want to be better at making conversation, possibly even make friends (currently don’t have any).

Going with this, I would also like to know generally how to talk to women when on a date. Things like what we should talk about, how I should dress, how to make her laugh, maybe even how to playfully flirt in a way that doesn’t come across as creepy and instead makes her feel seen and appreciated. Stuff like that

Anything y’all can recommend I’ll look into.

Fear of Flying, by Erica Jong, is a classic… tells it like it is. You have to be able to figure out the subtext yourself, so just for starters: the author was a very attractive woman, and didn’t say anything in her book about THAT. But her view of the problems women have with men is very much a beautiful-girl list of problems. Not a bad place to start, though…
