Pat Conroy is Charleston and, Carolina’s and Georgia. Not quite Florida but close.
Prince of Tides is my favorite.
Lords of Discipline and Great Santini are great. And a few others.
And a couple of non fiction books. The River is Wide is wonderful.

Lauren Groff has a short story collection entitled *Florida*. I believe she has other works set in Florida, but I’ve only read the story collection.
Colson Whitehead’s *The Nickle Boys* is set in a Florida reform school in the 1960s. It’s a horrible place, though.
And while not Florida, I have to mention Barbara Kingsolver’s *Demon Copperhead*, mainly set in Southwest Virginia during the opioid crisis. It’s excellent.
