I just finished reading ”The Hike” by Drew Magary. I liked the book a lot – but specifically the ending was the most satisfying I’ve read in a long time. I also remember the ending of ”The Hero Of Ages” by Brandon Sanderson being incredible.
So, hit me! What book comes to mind when you think of one with a really great ending?

I read the Three body problem trilogy. The ending in the last book – Death’s end left me in a state I can’t quite describe. I still think about it sometimes. We are but so tiny and our significance in this cosmic scale is nothing but negligible. The ending has changed me. It is a really great ending.
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie for me. It was one of the first fiction books I read, and I remember being in awe of that ending
Without any doubt or hesitation – A Prayer for Owen Meany. The whole book is great, but the ending elevates the novel from “great” to “sublime.”
I will also recommend Spoonbenders by Daryl Gregory, it also had a very satisfying ending where everything came together beautifully.
Misery Stephen King!!!
A gentleman in Moscow was perfection
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Had an ending so good I wanted to flip back to page 1 and do it all over again on the spot.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Ghost by Robert Harris has a great twist ending
I remember being very satisfied with how Pillars of the Earth concluded and tied together the different ends.
“Slewfoot” by Brom
Great question!! I think there are LOADS but one that stands out, and I’ve read recently, was Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. It’s by no means happy but it felt right and complete.
The Grace Year!
