hi! so for a bit of context, after a slighly 20s reading crisis where i started to get bored of more teenage oriented novels (sorry i don't know if there's a better wording for this, english is not my first language), i tried to find my most prefered genre of books, with little to no success.
that was until i read kim jiyoung 1982, almond and welcome to the hyunam-dong bookshop. i feel like the way they are written is really straightforward, harsh but real, and they don't try to hook you in with big plot twists or revelations, just honest good writing.
with that being said, i feel like i'm really enjoing this type of literature, where the story mainly revolves around a character, and honestly just tells you about their life. their hardships and experiences without any sugarcoating. another book i have noted down is shoko's smile.
any recommendations based on this would be greatly appreciated!! also, if anyone has any book that they thing i might like based on my likings, even if the genre is not the same i would also like to hear about it. thanks!!!

I just finished Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata and it was weird but really great. Its straight forward approach is one of my favorite things about it.
