hey y'all! been recently obsessed with the tv show The Bear and cooking in general. i saw a youtube video from Skip the Intro (not a plug i promise lol) and it made me realize how there's definitely an undercurrent of class critique in the show, which is pretty cool. before i started watching The Bear i read the book Our Lady of Perpetual Hunger which is a memoir by a chef and while it wasn't exactly fine dining it touched upon the author's experience cooking both at home and in a professional kitchen, and that juxtaposition was really interesting to me. i've found a few academic books about food production and marxism (Let Them Eat Junk by Albritton, haven't read it yet) which is up my alley but i was wondering if there's any more in that kind of vein. it doesn't have to be explicitly an academic book (but those are welcome!) or explicitly deals with class struggle. thanks very much!

edit: just making it clear that i don't mind fiction or non-fiction book recs. bonus points if you know there's an available audiobook somewhere, but not a requirement haha
