Trigger warning: late stage cancer diagnosis
Hi there! I’m “young” – 36F, and I was just diagnosed with stage 3B ovarian cancer a few weeks ago. I’m going through treatment and trying to be optimistic but having incredibly hard days, as the mortality and recurrence rate of this cancer are incredibly high. I was at a stage in my life where everything was coming together beautifully when cancer ripped that out from under me.
I’m looking for stories that are inspirational and inspiring and maybe even distracting. I just started Between Two Kingdoms.

The Ride of Her Life by Elizabeth Letts. It’s a biography about a women in the 1950s who, after being told she had two years left to live, rode her horse from Maine to California, attracting lots of media attention and meeting many people along the way.
