Just for some background information I’m 15 and trying to get back into reading. I’ve gotten tons of books over the last few years but haven’t read most of them. I have both fiction books and some science/nature related nonfiction books. Two of those nonfiction books are at the top of my reading list at the moment and I definitely want to read one of them. I’m hoping for both some fiction and nonfiction recommendations out of the books I listed below, so tell me which ones you think are the best.
Fiction:
- Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
- The Mahabharata (I’m Indian American so I’m interested in learning about Hindu stories)
- Moby-Dick by Herman Melville
- a collection of the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft
Nonfiction:
The main two are
-
Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari (my uncle recommended it to me and it seems really interesting. I know the book is a bit controversial so I am a bit skeptical on whether I should read it)
-
Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake (it just seems really interesting)
Some other nonfiction books I have are Sting of the Wild by Justin Schmidt, Underland by Robert Macfarlane, and Otherlands by Thomas Halliday.
I understand this is a fairly long and specific post so you don’t have to answer all of it. Just tell me which ones you’ve read and liked
