I (41 f) was an avid reader from the ages of 10-31. I loved reading and found it to be very therapeutic and educational. I wanted to be Belle from Beauty And The Beast with a huge library of my own one day.
The last ten years have been a slow decline mentally for me I feel. I started dating a man that never reads and only does audiobooks. Which is fine…but I’m finally to a point where I want/need more.
Some of my favorite books include Crime and Punishment, The Great Gatsby, almost anything from Dean Koontz (Fear Nothing being my favorite), anything from Dan Baldacci, and The Rivers of London series.
I enjoy sci-fi, mystery, drama, classics, fantasy, and self help.
I would like to read The Witcher series but think it might be best to start with something not as…long? At least at first. What would you suggest and why?

Start with Terry Pratchett.
Some healthy humor, decent critique/satire of both imaginary and contemporary issues and a lot of books to read.
