By complete coincidence, the book I just finished (Plain Bad Heroines) and the book I picked up (When Life Gives you Lululemons) both have red covers. That made me think of challenging myself to read as many other red books as I can this year, because why not?

I prefer fiction written by women or nonbinary authors and nothing super scary.

There’s a book of *101 Scottish Songs* that’s pretty good. There are also the *Feynman Lectures on Physics*, and Jonathan Spence’s *In Search of Modern China*. The Spence book is probably my favorite.

    2. A sweet and fun little read (featuring genderfluid characters and queer relationships) is Small Miracles by Olivia Atwater.

    3. Saw this just as I am about to Start Don’t Fear the Reaper, which has a red cover. It’s the sequel to My Heart is a Chainsaw.

Edit: I also just finished Plain Bad Heroines. Red books as a theme therefore makes sense to me!

Blood and beauty by Sarah Dunant

The Shape of Darkness by Laura Purcell (only some editions have red covers)

The Mercies by Kirian Millwood Hargrave

      The Sisterhood by Helen Bryan

      Deathless by Cathrynne M Valente

      * **The Red Tent by Anita Diamant**
      * **No Country for Girls by Emma Styles** – I haven’t technically read this since I’m only a chapter in, but am really enjoying it so far. This is ‘outback sand red’, so kind of orangey-red/reddish orange.

      * **The Vishakanya’s Choice by Roshani Chokshi** (short story)

    6. Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut

Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

      Native Son by Richard Wright

    7. scorpio races by maggie stiefvater has a pretty cover and the plot is pretty interesting
